The Great Fen Project

The Great Fen Project is an internationally important habitat restoration scheme, aiming to recreate 37 square kilometres of wetland between Peterborough and Huntingdon by reconnecting Woodwalton Fen and Holme Fen National Nature Reserves.
Funded partly by sponsorship and a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund it aims to combine nature conservation and management with tourism. By storing flood water it could also play an important role in protecting the homes, farms and businesses that depend on the Middle Level System.
His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is the Royal Patron of the Great Fen Project, and actor, author and broadcaster Stephen Fry is the President of the project.
The recent Great Fen concert series held at Peterborough Cathedral and King’s College Cambridge were a great success.
