The DOJ looks into whether Google is a monopoly
Some interesting points are raised in this article, one being that Google is a natural monopoly. It got where it is by being skilful and downright good at providing an easy to use search tool. Users are not coerced into using Google, there is no charge for using it’s search engine. Indeed as the article points out, the alternatives are one click away.
Google mail is free and supplies functions that other email providers charge for. Google docs is free and open source, you are free to export your docs into Word or any other text editor.
The only thing Google sells is advertising and it does not have a monopoly on that.
